Taycan - e-sports car enriches the Porsche portfolio

After a concept study lasting several years, the time had come in autumn 2019. Porsche AG from Stuttgart presented the Taycan model as their first battery-powered sports car. With the four-door coupé, the designers and technicians had created a production vehicle that, apart from the fully electric drive, can or should be able to drive autonomously for a longer period of time. The suitcase word Taycan was conceived by Porsche's marketing experts from several hundred suggested names. The three models Cayenne, Cayman and Macan were used for the sequence of letters. More interesting, however, for Porsche enthusiasts are the technical details of the three vehicle types that have been available as series models in Germany since the beginning of the year.

 

The four-door Porsche Taycan is available with two battery variants, Performance and Performance Plus. For the continuous output you can choose between 435, 490 and 626 hp. Acceleration from 0-100 km / h takes 2.8 to 4.0 seconds, depending on the vehicle type, and from 0-200 km / h 9.8 to 13.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 to 260 km. After the WLTP test cycle, the long-distance range is 330 to 410 kilometers, depending on the battery capacity. The Porsche driver can choose from the three Taycan brands 4S, Turbo and Turbo S. The body made of a material mix of aluminum and steel is fully galvanized. Two electric motors at the front and rear create the effect of an all-wheel drive.

SPACCER® tops the e-sedan from Porsche

Anyone who thinks that the Taycan's outfit and driving experience have reached their zenith will be taught better. The icing on the cake is the elevation of the up to 2,370 kg lightweight Porsche with SPACCER® from Illertissen in central Swabia. The vehicle lift is patented and originally Made in Germany. The Taycan driver can choose between 12 to 48 mm for the front and / or rear axle. This four-tier arrangement for additional ground clearance can be increased by a further 3 mm if an optionally available rubber profile is drawn into the lower groove of the SPACCER®. With the SPACCER® including rubber profile, the driving noise is significantly reduced and at the same time the driving comfort is a tad better.

SPACCER® - an individual one-off for every Taycan

The SPACCER® spiral ring made of black anodized, high-strength special aluminum is exclusively and custom-made for each Porsche Taycan based on the chassis number. The vehicle owner can best leave the installation to his local Porsche authorized workshop. The detailed assembly instructions are accompanied by a TÜV report on the approval of the SPACCER® for public road traffic.
