Barkas

The Saxon vehicle manufacturer Barkas began in 1923 in Frankenberg Saxony as a supplier for the DKW automobile factories. 1934 the company was moved to Hainichen in Central Saxony and renamed into Framo works. The until then produced vehicle Framo V90 was renamed into Barkas V 901. In 1957 the company turned into VEB Barkas-Werke Hainichen. Known is the vehicle Barkas B 1000, a transporter that is still as police and rescue vehicle in service in many countries. After the reunification the B 1000 could not keep up technically so that the production had to be discontinued in 1991. In the Barkas-Factories engines and parts are produced for Volkswagen. SPACCER is suitable for all Barkas models and optimizes the vehicles for trailer operation.
