GAZ

GAZ is the abbreviation for Gorkowskij Awtomobilnyj Zavod. The name stands for a Russian automobile manufacturer that was founded in 1932 in Nizhny Novgorod. During the Second World War trucks were produced in the works, and later cars were added. In 1956 was the production of GAZ-21, also known under the name of Volga. Because of the high fuel consumption, the vehicles were fitted with engines under western license. In addition to motor vehicles, the company today produces electric motors, bicycles and metal parts.
