Audi

Audi also has had a varied history. The company was founded in 1909 as A. Horch & Cie in Zwickau in 1910 and was renamed into Audi automobilefactories. 1932, DKW and Audi became part of the Auto Union. Audi built mainly luxury cars. Accordingly, only small numbers were sold. After the war the company moved to Ingolstadt, while in the GDR Trabant was made in the former Audi works . After the merger with NSU to today' s Audi AG the company became part of the Volkswagen Group. Through numerous innovations Audi has enabled itself to establishing as a premium manufacturer in the world. Popular models like the A4, A5 and A8 or the sports car RS2, TT or A6 and Q7 are part of a successful model strategy.
